Camp Fire Dinner : The Kingdom Ministries Bendigo extended family gathered together at Michael and Jennifer’s Sedgwick property for a bonfire and campfire dinner on Saturday evening. In the process of clearing the property during summer many substantial tree stumps had been collected, and once the fire ban period was lifted it was all systems go! With fire hose at the ready Michael started the fire in spectacular fashion, and it soon burned down to perfect coals. On went the potatoes in foil to bake, and damper, cooked in the coals and slathered in golden syrup, staved off the hunger pangs. Chilli con carne, Vegetarian chilli (thanks Jemima) and coleslaw accompanied the perfectly baked spuds….Mmmmmmm!!
Amazingly we all found room for a selection of scrumptious desserts (thanks Jan and Jem). We settled comfortably into our fireside chairs following dinner to enjoy fellowship and the fantastic spectacle of the lunar eclipse.
Cloud cover threatened to impair the view but woman of faith Lisa moved them on just at the right moment allowing an unobstructed viewing of the ‘pinnacle’ moment and an awesome display of stars.
Michael P thoughtfully provided binoculars and the benefit of his knowledge of the solar system adding to the experience.
We all had a great time and look forward to the next ‘bonny’.
