Perth Visit: Ken and Lynne, Michael and Jennifer, and Pat (unfortunately Don was unable to travel at the time) set off on Friday 15th May for Perth, WA. Our regular ministry visit coincided with the wedding of our dear brethren Joanne and Jason. We arrived to a beautiful balmy 28 degree Perth day and enjoyed a few hours of warmth and sunlight after some very cold weather in Bendigo.
However it was short lived, and the next morning, the wedding day, was very cold, very wet and very windy!
The locals all said it was our fault, bringing our Victorian weather with us. Record amounts of rain fell that day….we preferred to think of it as a special blessing which we had brought!
The clouds did clear and the sun (son) shone down on the radiant bride as she arrived. A lovely ceremony during which God’s principles for marriage were honoured followed.
On the Sunday we met with the brethren for a time of strengthening relationships, fellowship and prayer.
Monday was our “tourist” day. As it was Ken and Lynne’s first visit to WA and Michael was in his old stomping grounds, he took us on a guided tour of several of the highlights of Perth including King’s Park and Fremantle. Of course no visit to Fremantle would be complete without a stop at the home of the mighty Docker’s! ? Fish and chips on the beach at sunset completed our very
